Natural remedies- Lyme disease

Hi everyone,
For this weeks natural remedies I found several herb to help with Lyme disease.

1) Japanese Knotweed which shuts down the inflammatory pathways initiated by the Lyme disease spirochete. It is reported to impact the exact pathways that are used by Lyme disease to promote inflammation within the body. It crosses the blood-brain-barrier. It is a potent antioxidant and has a protective effect on the brain. Buhner states that if he could recommend one thing, it would be for every Lyme infected person on antibiotics to take Japanese Knotweed in conjunction with their conventional therapy as it increases the effectiveness by at least double.

2) Cat’s Claw reliably raises CD57 natural killer cells in those with Lyme disease. It is a very powerful anti-arthritic herb.

3) Eleutherococcus can be very helpful for those with fatigue. It also stimulates immune function, reduces brain fog, and reduces depression.

4) Astragalus is a good immune tonic. It can help to lessen the severity of the disease process when taking as a preventive or immediately after infection. It is not, however, indicated in chronic Lyme disease.

5) Andrographis crosses the blood-brain-barrier and modulates immunity. It also protects heart tissue and is anti-inflammatory.

Wow, you did your research! These all sound like herbs from the Buhner protocol. I've been on Cat's Claw (Samento) in conjunction with the Cowden protocol for a few months, along with banderol, mora, cumanda, and a few other microbials, plus burber, parsley, pinella, and sparga for detox. Japanese knotweed is an amazing herb! Unfortunately the cost has prevented me from taking it, but I recommend it to anyone with Lyme. Thanks for sharing this great list and spreading Lyme awareness!
    Blessings,
    Kate
